Dan
"Country Joe Dano" Foster
Guitar, Vocals, Harmonica
Dan was born in Eastern Washington in the small reservation
town of Toppenish. He grew up moving all over the western and southwestern
United States and Vancouver, Canada.
As a teen he ended up back in Eastern Washington, started
playing drums, and played with anyone who would have him. After a few
years he got bored with drums, switched to bass guitar and played with
a lot of cover bands (top forty, country, oldies).
After doing that for a few years he got tired of doing
covers and moved to Seattle to play original music. That's when he got
interested in songwriting and started playing guitar and singing.
Growing up and living in the country most of his life
gave Dan's style the country rock feel, and after playing with countless
other musicians he eventually ended up with the present Johnson County.
He also plays bass full time with the psychedelic garage punk band,
Firecrotch.
Having so far achieved his primary life goals of 1.
Staying out of prison and 2. Not ending up a farmer, Dan says his 3
main goals now are to:
- Open his own bar.
- Drink something with Keith Richards.
- Write a kick ass country song.
